Training Assessments
The effectiveness and success of any canine detection capability is founded in the quality of training. Subsequently, our training plans, both basic and advanced, are tailored to meet the practical needs of the employing agency. Training documents and the development of untrained dogs must reflect a logical progression in the development of both scent association and specific search capabilities. To expect a reliable detection capability for heroin, cocaine, and cannabis, it stands to reason that the trainer must be licensed to possess these substances.
Exposure of the dog and officer to the full realm of the agency's enforcement activities, i.e., searching vehicles, aircraft, freight, luggage, mail, locker rooms, schools, premise, and curtilage is critical to reliability and the continued maintenance of the detection capability.
Our independent evaluation of the training process results in the identification of weaknesses within the training approach and provides specific recommendations for improvement. These independent training assessments ensure management is getting what they paid for.
